Using Your Own Domain Name (Custom Domains)

You can absolutely bring your own custom domain name (e.g., you@yourdomain.com) for your email and other hosted services on our platform!

Because custom domains require specific external configurations to ensure secure and reliable performance, the setup process is currently handled by our support team.

How to Set Up Your Custom Domain

To get started, please reach out to us over our support chat. Our team will work with you directly to coordinate the setup. The process generally looks like this:

  1. Tell Us Your Domain: Drop a message in the support chat letting us know which domain you want to use and which services (Email, Vaultwarden, Cloud Storage, etc.) you want attached to it.
  2. Update Your DNS Records: We will generate and provide you with the exact DNS records (such as MX, TXT, SPF, DKIM, and CNAME records) that you need to add to your domain registrar (e.g., Namecheap, Cloudflare, GoDaddy).
  3. Account Provisioning: Once you've added the records and they have propagated across the internet, we will finalize the account creation and link your domain on our backend.

Why do I need to contact support?

Setting up a custom domain—especially for email—requires strict DNS alignment to ensure your messages are secure and don't end up in recipients' spam folders. Coordinating through support ensures your DNS records are verified and everything is configured correctly the first time.

Next Step: Jump into the support chat and let us know what domain you'd like to use!
