Lemmy Guide
Lemmy is a federated social news aggregator similar to Reddit. It allows communities to create, share, and discuss content across a decentralized network.
Important: No SSO/Login Synchronization
Lemmy does NOT integrate with ElectricMonk's Single Sign-On (SSO).
Unlike other ElectricMonk services (Matrix, Vaultwarden, email, etc.), Lemmy uses its own independent authentication system. You cannot use your ElectricMonk SSO credentials to log into the Lemmy instance.
Each Lemmy instance requires its own separate account management system.
Using lemmy.electricmonk.io
ElectricMonk hosts a Lemmy instance at lemmy.electricmonk.io. You can create an account here and use it to:
- Post and comment on communities
- Subscribe to communities
- Participate in discussions across the ElectricMonk Lemmy instance
Creating an Account

- Click Sign Up in the top navigation
- Choose a username and password (these are separate from your ElectricMonk SSO credentials)

Federation Benefits

- View content from lemmy.world, lemmy.ml, and thousands of other instances
- Comment and post in communities on any federated instance
- Follow users across the network
- All while maintaining a single login
